Winter is ending, and the flowers are starting to bloom.

I wrote:

“He invades my every thought

every waking hour

and even my dreams -

What have You done to me?

I could lose my mind over You.”

Sunset

Seated together on a lonely beach

Silent in shared solitude

No word need be exchanged

and in the space between them

… a deep sorrow expands the sense of distance

So that an arm’s span becomes

an unpassable chasm

There can be nothing beyond this point -

… no touch, no connection

No bridge between their sould

They must find solace in the brief moment

together

but partaking in shared solitude

This is one of the rare cases where I have been able to combine my creative writing with my line drawings and I am pleased with the result.
